Following the domestic altercation that resulted in the arrest of Maxine, Asad was battling for his life in the High Dependency Unit at the Avenue Hospital in Nairobi.

Adil claimed that during the horrific attack on last Tuesday early, his brother suffered significant blood loss.

He was in serious condition, therefore earlier on Wednesday they had appealed to the public for blood donations.

Who was Asad Khan?

At the height of his rallying career, Asad was a well-known rally driver. The competition’s high point was always his participation in a Subaru Impreza.

He had been operating a mechanic shop exclusively for rally cars with his younger brother Adil.

As members of the Service Crew for the Young FIA Team, which competed in several events around the Continent this year, they both oversaw a group of mechanics.

His brother’s statement

When Asad was taken to the hospital on Wednesday, Adil told Nation Sport in an earlier interview that it was clear from the injuries his brother sustained that he had been attacked by other people who were in Maxine’s company.

“It is my brother who has trained Maxine in rallying. He has assisted her family so much and has aided her to develop her talent.”

Maxine was detained by police on charges of serious harm but was later freed on bail. She might receive a life sentence if she is prosecuted and found guilty of the crime.

“Seeking Justice”

Adil promised his brother that he “would seek justice.” Maxine Wahome had previously been detained by police and appeared in court.

On December 12, 2022, she was taken into custody in his Kilimani flat when Asad’s brother, Adila Khan, reported the event to the police after learning about it via the building’s management. She has an Sh100,000 cash bail set.

Adil claimed that the entire situation was part of a diabolical plot because the Preston Court administration, where the couple lives, called him on Monday at around 1 pm.

Change in the charge sheet?

State prosecutor James Gachoka had requested that Maxine be held for 14 days so that police could complete their inquiries.

Ms Wahome is eager to help the police with their inquiries, but her attorney, Steve Kimathi, opposes the application. He asserted that she poses no flight danger and will abide by any requirements set forth by the court.

“The nature of the offence police are investigating is bailable. I urge this court to free the suspect on bond pending completion of investigations.”

Police were sent to the location, according to information provided to Ochoi, and it

“appeared disturbed with household goods strewn all over the dining room and a pool of blood on the floor and in the staircase.”

Stephen Kibei, the investigating officer, requested extra time to complete the investigations.

Ochoi agreed with Kimathi that the charges against Maxine are eligible for bail under the penal code.

Before releasing her on Sh100,000 cash bail, the judge added that bail is a constitutional right for all suspects. Until the investigation is over, Ms Wahome must go to the Kilimani Police Station’s investigating officer every Monday.

When Asad’s condition began to improve, police asked to hold the suspect in detention for 14 days.

With Asad’s passing, the charges might now be altered.
