• Thanjavur Medical College is one of India’s oldest medical schools. It was founded in 1958 and serves the Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Pudukkotai, and Perambalur districts. As a result, the hospital receives a significant number of patients every day.
• Clinically, it is one of Tamil Nadu’s finest medical institutions. Additionally, a new hospital facility built-in 2018. In the revised proposal, there will also be a regional cancer center. From a clinical standpoint, it is one of Tamil Nadu’s top colleges.

• Academically, the institution is a step backward because students are not permitted to participate in co-curricular activities during their college years. The college administration is hesitant to encourage students to participate in these activities.

• The College, on the other hand, is an excellent location to study and learn from some of the top doctors in the state.
• Faculty that are passionate about what they do and have a lot of clinical experience.
•  A large caseload and a variety of learning opportunities are available.
•  There is a large forested area on the campus. (Tamil Nadu’s biggest)
•  It’s more important than anything else how you use what this college has to give you. Typically from people’s experiences, Thanjavur is home to some of the most lovely and genuine people you’ll ever meet.
• Sure, you won’t have as many hangout places as cities like Chennai and Coimbatore, but being in the heart of the state allows you to take weekend travels to a variety of intriguing destinations. (This is especially true if you have a motorbike)
• Patients from Thanjavur are rarely referred to other hospitals, but colleges like Kilpauk medical college are referred to Madras medical college on a regular basis. (With fewer referrals, you get to observe what happens to a patient from beginning to end.)
• There are several opportunities to be taught, and you will learn all of the required procedures in TMC. You won’t believe it, but one of my senior’s first surgeries as an intern was to help with the burr hole evacuation of a cerebral hematoma known as EDH.

• The cost of living is quite low. The mess in the hostel is fantastic, it’s a student mess, and it’s inexpensive.
