Francesco Nuti cause of death:

Francesco Nuti passed away after seventeen years of suffering and loneliness. He had been unable to work since September 2, 2006, when he was involved in a home accident that left him with a cerebral hematoma.

The depressed actor spent several months in a coma while being cared for by his mother and musician brother Giovanni.

The accident left him seriously damaged his brain and rendered him mute and immobile. In the years that followed, Nuti made a few public appearances on Italian television where his disability was openly exposed.

This led to strong emotional reactions from Nuti’s supporters as well as fury over what was thought to be the exploitation of the former director’s suffering. A second fall on September 21, 2016, resulted in Nuti being hospitalized in serious condition.
