According to Decatur police, the accident happened at the junction of Oakland Avenue and Green Street around 8:34 p.m.

Delbert R. Cason, 52, of Decatur was struck by a car near the junction of Oakland and Green Street, according to the Macon County Coroner.
Cason was pronounced dead at the Decatur Memorial Hospital emergency department at 9:10 p.m. on Thursday.
According to the preliminary inquiry, a Chevrolet Traverse was traveling southbound on Oakland when it collided with a pedestrian in the intersection.
The driver, a 32-year-old Decatur woman, was not hurt in the crash. According to police, there is no evidence that she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the moment of the crash.
The fatal accident investigation team rushed to the scene and is currently looking into the collision. This incident marked the second time in two days that a pedestrian was struck and killed in Decatur.
