People reacts to the controversy

Many people did not like what Mr. Lapid said.

The Kashmir Files actor Darshan Kumaar also responded to Mr. Lapid’s remarks. He plays one of the major roles in the film.

In statement to ANI, Mr. Darshan stated:

“Everyone has their own individual opinions on anything they see and perceive… But one can’t deny the fact that The Kashmir files are a film which has depicted the actual plight of the Kashmiri Pandit community… who are still fighting for justice against the brutal acts of terrorism… so this film is not on vulgarity but in reality.”

“If the holocaust was right then the exodus of Kashmiri pandits is also right. This seems pre-planned because immediately after it the tool-kit gang became active. It’s shameful for him to make a statement like this even though he comes from a community of Jews who suffered from the holocaust.”

” So, by making a statement like this, he has also pained those people who suffered this tragedy. I would just say may God give him wisdom so that he doesn’t use the tragedy of thousands of people to fulfill his aim on stage.”

At the festival’s closing ceremony, Mr. Lapid called the movie “propaganda, disgusting,” which Mr. Kher called “shameful.”

Aditya Raj Khoul tweeted,

“Shameless statement on The Kashmir Files by someone who comes across as illiterate. Will this Israeli film director Nadav Lapid call Holocaust a propaganda? Will he call Schindler’s List and The Pianist as propaganda films? ”

Indian Kissinger tweeted,

“It’s govt of indias fault to get him on the jury, without even making a bare minimum research? He has far left political viewing and ofc would have been influenced by his left wing readings. Anurag thakur should be called and asked why was lapid invited, than vice versa.”

Divya Kumar soti tweeted,

Nadal Lapid is part of global leftist cabal and has been in cahoots with Palestinian Islamists. Let us not spoil India-Israel relations for his agenda based vulgar statement designed to produce that very effect.”
