Wade tweeted earlier, “Over the past few months I have been focused singularly on a challenging road through unexpected illness. Tom has been supportive including making sure I have the best possible care. I am incredibly grateful to him and blessed that I will make a full and complete recovery. Sadly, we must dissolve our marriage because we were unable to start and grow our relationship correctly in these early stages. We will always be connected, and he will always mean the world to me.”

Wade is the founder of White Tee Partners, a golf PR company, and she recently served as SVP of Communications for CBS Sports. She once had a close friendship and working connection with Nick Faldo, a golfing star who left CBS this year.

Watson, 73, is regarded as one of the greatest golfers of all time. He won eight major championships, and 39 PGA events, including The Masters twice, U.S. Open once, and The Open Championship five times, among his other 70 professional victories. Additionally, he twice served as captain of the American Ryder Cup team, in 1993 and 2004.

Hilary, Watson’s former spouse, passed away in 2019 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Watson has five children and Wade is a mother of three.
