Mason Clarkson Carter, 13, passed away unexpectedly on November 17, 2022. Mason Clarkson Carter, of Gilberdyke, East Yorkshire, died last year after contracting a virus.
The South Cave Sporting FC star was referred to by his aunt as a “class clown” with a “great sense of humor.”
“He had lots of friends and a great sense of humor,” Emma Barnes told hull live, “but it was always getting him in trouble and into detention.”
Mason played football for only seven days before he passed away on November 17.
After becoming ill, he was taken to the hospital twice before being released home. He was sent home from A&E, only to die a few days later, Emma added.

Mason Clarkson was a player for South Cave Sporting FC. He was a young and talented Rugby and football player from Gilberdyke. He was a student at South Hunsley School.
The 13-year-old was described by Mason’s club as a “beautiful boy” who would be lost but never forgotten.
He was recalled by his teachers at South Hunsley School as a “cheeky Chappy with an infectious smile.”
What happened to Mason Clarkson Carter?
Mason suddenly passed away on November 17, 2022. He died as a result of an illness and a diarrhea bug.
His funeral took place on January 23, 2023, at Haltemprice Crematorium. It was delayed for a post-mortem examination. His aunt, Emma, added: “It has come as such a shock to the family, he had his whole life ahead of him.”
“He was running around playing football the week before he passed away and was such a sporty, healthy lad.”
