In a residence in League City, a married couple was discovered dead after what appears to be a murder-suicide. The League City Police Department is investigating a homicide in the 100 block of Magnolia Estates Dr. where a married couple’s bodies were discovered inside their residence. Murder-Suicide case: Explained

Detectives from the League City Police Department were looking into what they believed to be a murder-suicide case on Monday in which a man shot his wife before killing himself, according to department spokesperson officer John Griffith.

The couple’s deaths are being looked into, according to the League City Police Department. Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Magnolia Estates Drive to conduct a welfare check at around 9:30 a.m. when a man failed to arrive for work.

Officers discovered what they thought to be a woman lying on the floor inside the house after arriving and looking outside.

 

Who was Lance Staehli?

When police broke down the door, they discovered a man and a woman dead from what seemed to be a murder-suicide.

According to authorities, there were weapons at the site. Sally Staehli, 57, was the victim, according to League City officials, and Lance Staehli, 54, was the suspect.

According to John “D.J.” Florence, chief investigator for the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office, Sally Staehli was shot once in the back with a pistol. Florence claimed that Lance Staehli had shot himself in the head with a shotgun. Griffith advised anyone with information to contact the investigators at 281-554-1885.
