16-year-old Kentrel Miller was killed in a deadly event on Friday afternoon outside a mall in Fairfield when gunshots were fired. Keep reading to know more about it in detail.

 

Western hill mall shooting:

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has announced that one person died following a gunshot that occurred at a Fairfield mall on Friday afternoon. On Doctor MLK Boulevard in Fairfield, a shooting took place at the Western Hills Mall.

Soon after 3:20 p.m., deputies from Jefferson County responded to the Western Hills Mall on Aaron Aronov Drive.

Multiple gunshot wounds were discovered on a 16-year-old boy named Kentrel Miller.  At the scene, he was declared dead.

There haven’t been many details made public, but witnesses claim they heard what sounded like automatic weapons firing many times. In front of the Nail Palace and the mall entrance, deputies have set up more than 70 evidence markers.

According to deputies, the victim was approached by three men in masks as he was crossing the parking lot. They fired at the victim before leaving in a dark vehicle. Currently, no suspects are being held in custody.

 

Kentrel Miller dead:

One of Kentrel Miller’s family members provided information about the incident on Facebook and stated that he leaves behind a daughter who is one year old.

The family has also put up a GoFundMe page to assist with the funeral cost.

It read,

“Although no mother should have to endure this pain of losing a child this is the sad reality that our family is currently faced with!

We are asking those of you who will to please help us with the burial expenses in the sum of $4,000.

No amount is too small & is greatly appreciated!

Thank you kindly, on behalf of The Miller family.”

The mourners at the scene, where a large crowd gathered, included his mother and grandmother.

The boy had just walked outside after leaving a barbershop when he was shot. Witness statements suggested that the attack was a planned but unanticipated ambush.
