Several details have not been released, and police have not disclosed whether the death investigation stems from injuries sustained in the crash or from an incident before it.

Road closed?

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the highway from Wabash Avenue to Chestnut Road was closed for several hours.

The investigation did not involve Kathleen High School or any of its students or staff, but it did impact school traffic.

As a result, Polk County Sheriff’s Office advised anyone dropping off students at Kathleen High School to use Crutchfield Road on the north side of the high school.

It appears that the US 92 reopened in both directions after being closed for several hours Friday morning as Polk County deputies investigated the incident.
