Robina pub stabbing: what happened to Dylan McPadden?
Following the alleged stabbing of another man at a Gold Coast pub, a man has been charged with murder. Around 10.15 p.m. on Thursday, police were summoned to a pub on Markeri St. in Robina in response to reports of a stabbing in the smoking area.
On Friday morning, Detective Acting Inspector Mark Proctor stated that the event happened within about 90 seconds of the alleged offender entering the tavern. He continued, “The man has entered the tavern with a girl, and an altercation has started.
They clearly have trauma, according to Detective Proctor. While awaiting the arrival of the paramedics, staff at the tavern assisted in treating the victim.
The injured 26-year-old Nerang guy was discovered by emergency personnel with a one-inch wide chest stab wound. He was sent to the Gold Coast University Hospital but passed away later that evening at around 11 o’clock.
Their inquiries directed police to a motel at Mermaid Beach, where they arrested a 26-year-old guy just after 2 in the morning. He is now facing murder charges.
Detective Proctor added, “Until someone produces a knife, it’s too easy to lose your life over something that may have just been a minor altercation.”

He pulled out a knife as a result of the quarrel and stabbed the victim once in the chest. The entire episode took place in minutes, or roughly 90 seconds. Despite being transported to the hospital, McPadden couldn’t be rescued.
The suspect is currently being investigated by the police for murder. According to the police, he fatally stabbed Dylan McPadden, 26, in the heart. Shortly after 2 am police attended a Mermaid Beach address and took Tyler Hales into custody.
Police said they have now charged Tyler Hales who has no fixed address, with murder. He will front Southport Magistrates Court on Saturday. “Investigators would like to speak to any witnesses and anyone with relevant footage,” police said.
