Following a fatal shooting at a storage facility, Omaha Police make an arrest. Shooting near 84th and F Streets claims the life of a 24-year-old guy.

Today’s senseless gun violence included the shooting and death of an innocent man named Rodney Hart-Owens. The suspect was taken into custody soon after the incident.

Rodney Hart-Owens shot to death

A guy has been detained in connection with the gunshot that occurred near 84th and F Streets in Omaha early on Thursday.

Omaha police were called to All My Sons Moving & Storage at 8611 F St. shortly before 7:30 a.m. for a report of gunfire.

According to Omaha Police Department spokesman Officer Chris Gordon, the 911 caller stated that the shooting began inside the structure and continued outside the parking lot.

24-year-old Rodney Hart-Owens was discovered dead in the parking lot when the police arrived. Police claimed Hart-Owens worked for the moving company.

Who is the suspect?

Octavian Sanderson, 26, has been detained by police concerning the shooting. He was arrested and lodged in the Douglas County Jail on charges of first-degree murder, and two counts of having a gun in their possession.

At the same time, it was illegal to do so, making terroristic threats, using a weapon to commit a crime, and tampering with evidence.

According to Gordon, the gunshot between the two males appeared to be an isolated incident. No other people were hurt. For the homicide investigation, police sealed off F Street on Thursday between 84th and 87th Streets.

The moving firm wrote on Facebook that it is ultimately assisting law police with the inquiry and that its “hearts and prayers” are with the victim’s family.

The terrible incident that included two of our colleagues today and escalated off-site, culminating in a fatality, was described in the message as “we are deeply saddened by.” The shooting results in Omaha’s fourth fatality so far this year.
