Suspect: Who is Stephen Foreman?

According to the Aiken Department of Public Safety, a man was taken into custody after a gunshot that happened Wednesday night at a Walmart in South Carolina that injured a 13-year-old girl.

According to the Department of public safety, Stephen Foreman, 32, of Aiken, was charged with attempted murder and having a firearm while committing a violent offence on Thursday.

According to the incident report, Foreman called the Department of public safety while officers were responding to the Walmart and claimed to be at the KFC fast food outlet less than half a mile away.

Foreman was arrested and lodged at the Aiken County Detention Facility. According to jail records, no bond has been set, and Foreman is still detained.

Previous Case History:

Stephen Foreman, the suspect, has previously faced charges of gun violence. Police in Aiken are familiar with him.

Foreman was accused of tying up his brother and parents in their home on Interlachen Court, leading to his arrest in May 2019 on abduction and weapon possession charges.

According to the newspaper, the incident happened at a home on Interlachen Court and involved a 65-year-old man, his 62-year-old wife, and their 32-year-old son.

The elder brother claimed that Foreman ordered his brother and parents to the corner of the living room after emerging from his bedroom carrying a sawed-off shotgun.

The report says:

“The younger brother threw some black tape to his older brother and told him to tie up his parents while pointing the gun at his brother. The older brother taped up the leg of his parents and then his legs before the younger brother taped up his older brother’s hands. The younger brother was going on about robbing a bank and other ‘jibberish’ and other nonsense.

When the younger brother heard the family run out, he grabbed the father’s wallet and several handguns and ran to a black Ford Expedition and left the area.

Prior to returning upstairs, Foreman also snatched the keys to the older brother’s gun safe and cell phones. The family managed to free themselves from their ties, and they fled to the woods behind the house while dialling 911 on a phone the mother had hidden in her chair before they were tied up.

The next day, the suspect turned himself in to police. He was found to be in possession of four firearms and a large amount of ammo.

The absence of the 2019 case from online court records suggests that the charges were dropped. Bill Weeks, a lawyer, was unavailable for comment right away.

Foreman pled guilty to two charges of pointing and presenting a firearm in January 2021, according to Ashley Hammack, deputy solicitor of the Second Judicial Circuit Office, and was given a mental health court sentence.
