Authorities say a 12-year-old girl, Rachel Savell vanished shortly after getting off her school bus on Wednesday afternoon, and a search is currently underway in San Jacinto County.

Near the Coldspring neighborhood of San Jacinto County, in the 800 block of Lower Vann Road off of FM 2025, Rachel was last seen.

Authorities are looking into the matter as a potential kidnapping.

What happened to Rachel Savell?

The girl was last seen by her brother, according to information from the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office.

He reportedly noticed her when she stepped off the school bus. She was dressed in black leggings and a teal T-shirt with the word “Seaside” on it.

She was last seen Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. walking down her driveway. After getting off the school bus, according to the authorities, she was looking for her phone.

SJSO and other agencies were looking for Rachel along the 800 block of Lower Vann Road, just south of Coldspring.

K-9 police, DPS aircraft, and law enforcement and firefighters from San Jacinto County are also helping with the search.

The 12-year-old girl who was reported missing this afternoon has been found, according to the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office.

“She is safe with your San Jacinto County Sheriff awaiting evaluation by paramedics and to be reunited with her family,” the Sheriff’s Office posted just before 11 p.m. Wednesday. “Thank you all for the support and sharing.”
