According to the New Orleans Police Department, a shooting in Mid-City on Thursday afternoon resulted in the death of Minnie Hunter and the injury of a 41-year-old man. Keep reading to know more about the Mid-city shooting in detail.
Mid-city shooting: What happened?
On July 27, a shooting in Mid City New Orleans left one women dead and another person wounded.
According to the police, the incident took place at the intersection of South Pierce and Ulloa Streets shortly after 12 o’clock.
On the spot, a 30-year-old lady was declared dead. A second victim of a gunshot wound, a 41-year-old guy, was also discovered there. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of his wounds.
After an autopsy is completed, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will reveal the victim’s identity.
Although we discovered through a Facebook post that the victim was Minnie Hunter from New Orleans, Louisiana.
The police withheld further information at first.
Police had blocked off Ulloa between South Scott and South Pierce streets at 1:30 p.m.
Around a dozen onlookers gathered next to a community center to see detectives look through an apartment building’s parking lot while some of them sobbed. They choose not to elaborate further on their lost loved one.

Investigators from the Homicide Section of the New Orleans Police Department are looking into the shooting deaths of a 30-year-old woman and a 41-year-old male.

Since 2019, at least four further fatalities have occurred close to the intersection of South Scott Street and Ulloa, according to information provided by the New Orleans Police Department.
Angel Funez and Niukura Gonzales, both 25 years old, were shot and killed in the 4000 block of Ulloa in February 2020. In New Orleans, there have been 132 homicides as of July 27. 20% less than in the same period the previous year.
Authorities are currently looking into Minnie Hunter’s death circumstances, which are yet unclear. The news has obviously crushed Minnie Hunter’s family and friends, and the community has been horrified by the tragic loss.
