How did Truong Thai die? Las Vegas police officer cause of death Explained

Truong Thai passed away: According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, an officer has passed away following an early-morning shooting on Thursday near UNLV. Let’s see what happened, and how did the Las Vegas police officer die in detail.

What happened to the Las Vegas police officer?

Sheriff Joe Lombardo stated during a press conference on Thursday that dispatch got a report about a domestic disturbance close to the 800 block of East Flamingo Road at around one in the morning.

In the vicinity of University Center and Flamingo Road, responding officers made contact with the suspicious car, according to Sheriff Lombardo.

Suspect: (Tyson Hampton)

Police claim that the suspect, 24-year-old Tyson Hampton, shot at them while carrying a weapon.

According to Lombardo, both responding cops fired their weapons.

According to Lombardo, one cop was struck and badly injured, as well as a bystander. Both were sent to neighborhood hospitals.

After escaping, Hampton was arrested at Eastern and Desert Inn with the aid of a K-9 unit, according to the authorities.

When Hampton got out of the car, he resisted the demands of the cops, so the K-9 unit was called in.

Victim: (Truong Thai)

Police have named the deceased officer as Truong Thai, 49, who was killed in the incident. Thai, according to Sheriff Lombardo, passed away at Sunrise Hospital after receiving a gunshot wound to the torso.

He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died with his ex-wife and daughter by his side, Lombardo said.

“This incident illustrates the danger our officers face every day just putting on the uniform and doing their job,” Lombardo said.

Thai, a department employee since 1999, was given a position in the South Central Area Command of the LVMPD.

Officer Thai was described as a “dedicated, 23-year veteran” of the agency by South Central Area Command in a message on social media published later on Thursday morning.

Police said Thai served in a number of roles for the agency, including that of a weapons instructor. “He was passionate about training new offers.”
