At the current National Sports Festival in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, death has been reported. According to information that has just reached Medico Topics the 86kg bout between Prince Gaby Amagor of Anambra and Chukwuemeka Igboanugo of Imo State was interrupted when the former collapsed.

Boxer Chukwuemeka Igboanugo, who was competing for Imo, passed away after losing an 86 kg knockout match to Prince Gaby Amagor of Anambra. The fight had to be called off when Pascal took a hit to the chin and was unable to recover.
On condition of anonymity, a boxing official told our correspondent, “He was immediately pulled out of the ring for medical attention before being transferred to the hospital, where he was certified dead.”
