After the code of conduct is implemented in elections, the political parties and politicians in the respective area have to follow certain rules. It is the responsibility of the Election Commission to follow these rules. If the code of conduct is violated, the Election Commission directs the concerned officer to take immediate action.

After the code of conduct is implemented, no political party can use government vehicles, government aircraft, government houses. After the implementation of the code of conduct, no government work can be inaugurated, foundation stone can be laid.
After the implementation of the code of conduct, no political party can organize a rally without the permission of the police and administration. After the implementation of the code of conduct, no event can be organized with government expenditure.
Under the Code of Conduct Rules, political parties cannot use religious places for political events citing communal feelings.
