According to authorities, a young woman was killed by a gunshot over the weekend in Mississippi.
The victim was identified as Ayairia Anderson, age 21, by the Hinds County Coroner. The victim was 7-8 months pregnant.

The Hinds County coroner reports that Ayairia Anderson, age 21, passed away last Sunday after being shot in the head and leg.

The shooting happened at around one in the morning as she was leaving Soop’s, a restaurant and pub.

Katina Eggleston, the victim’s aunt, said that her niece was eight months pregnant. She claimed that after a fight broke out, Anderson was hurriedly departing the restaurant.

Eggleston claims that Anderson was trying to exit the restaurant in her car when she was caught in the crossfire of the argument. The vehicle she was driving then crashed near a bridge.

When her niece collapsed, her companions called 911 and attempted CPR on the scene. When police came, they found Anderson inside a car who had suffered several gunshot wounds.

Anderson was transported by paramedics to a neighboring hospital, where she was given life support. Doctors conducted a C-section after it was confirmed she was pregnant, but the baby did not survive.

Police said that Anderson and the unborn child died despite the fact that an emergency C-section was carried out.
