Why Canelo Alvarez undergone wrist surgery? Video of the surgery left fans in shock

Canelo lvarez had surgery on his left hand, but he escaped the operating room unscathed. He proudly displayed the hand when the bandage was taken off and said he hoped to go back in the ring as soon as possible. Let’s see Why Canelo Alvarez underwent wrist surgery and a video that shocks his fans in detail

Why has Canelo Alvarez undergone wrist surgery?

Saul Alvarez just defeated Gennady Golovkin, but it wasn’t all fun and games. Following his bout with Dmitry Bivol, the fighter sustained a hand injury that required surgery.

The fighter shared a video to his Instagram stories revealing his hand and taking off the bandage. The famous and wealthy boxer released a clip of the procedure where the bandage is cut off with specialized scissors and he flips his wrist to reveal the surgical incision. The sutures on the back of his left hand could be seen in the video.

When did Canelo suffer a hand injury?

Canelo acknowledged in the ring that it was nearly hard for him to seal his left fist and that’s why he needed surgery after defeating GGG in the final fight of the trilogy against the Kazakh fighter.

Canelo underwent surgery on his left hand, but in his own words, the procedure was simply a cleaning of the meniscus in his knee.

The boxer opened up all about his rehabilitation after the procedure.

He announced that his comeback to the ring would probably occur in September during a Mexican League baseball game in which he threw out the first pitch.

Although some local media are already speculating about an earlier return than anticipated, the Guadalajara native would be prepared for May and June.

Canelo Alvarez’s return to the ring is not yet scheduled, but he can resume training now that the bandage covering his hand has been taken off.

According to ESPN, Canelo’s staff stated that although the wrist on his left hand was not broken, the injury did require surgery.

Alvarez had surgery in Los Angeles, and luckily for him, everything went smoothly.

Canelo posted a video on social media in which he can be seen with a bandage on his hand and a plush lion in his left hand, which is also covered in bandages. One of Canelo’s daughters gave him the gift. The boxer accepted the present lovingly and humorously.

When will Canelo make his ring comeback?

Before surgery, it was predicted that Canelo Alvarez would miss a year of fighting since he would be unable to punch; however, since there is no fracture, the recuperation period may be shorter.

Canelo’s wrist must be immobilized for at least three weeks; thereafter, he won’t be able to make quick motions. Canelo typically fights between May and September, so if his recovery goes well, we might see the Mexican on Cinco de Mayo weekend.

As per (September 17, 2022) online reports- Canelo is planning a break for a wrist operation

Undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez has had six fights in the past 21 months and is ready for a rest. After defeating Gennady Golovkin by a majority decision on Saturday night, Alvarez declared early on Sunday inside an empty T-Mobile Arena, “I’m going to take my time.”

Maybe in May or September (I’ll return). I have no idea. Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 knockouts) claimed to have torn cartilage in his left wrist, a condition that calls for surgery and a minimum of 12 weeks of recovery. He said that because of the injury, he was less explosive during training camp and this made him fatigued in the final rounds versus Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs).

Nevertheless, Alvarez outclassed his opponent in their third and final fight, winning by scores of 116-112, 115-113, and 115-113 in a battle that wasn’t even close. Although Golovkin began to open up his offense near the conclusion of the fight, albeit very ineffectively, Alvarez was by much the busier boxer in the first eight rounds.

The fight was far less thrilling than the prior two, which are regarded as modern middleweight classics. Alvarez is 32 and in his prime, but Golovkin is 40 and far over it, even though he still holds two middleweight championship belts and stated on Saturday that he plans to keep boxing.

The battle against Alvarez, which was broadcast live on pay-per-view on Saturday, was Golovkin’s final contest under his contract with DAZN. Golovkin, the IBF and WBA 160-pound champion, is free to negotiate the greatest fights because he is his own promoter and is not affiliated with a network.

Golovkin must defend his WBA title against Erislandy Lara, but he has the option to renounce it and look for alternative fights.

The WBC middleweight championship is held by Jermall Charlo, and the WBO belt is held by Janibek Alimkhanuly. The fights are broadcast on Showtime and ESPN, respectively, and they are affiliated with Premier Boxing Champions and Top Rank.

The battle with Alvarez is probably the biggest fight he will ever take part in. Through a translator, Golovkin stated, “We’ve moved on because… at this level, this sport is so dangerous. We are happy with the way our rivalry came to a close and the way this fight went.

Now that Alvarez is free from his two-fight promotional contract with Matchroom Boxing, which also bound him to DAZN, he has access to several major fights.

The WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol, against whom the Mexican legend fell on May 7 and snapped a 16-fight winning streak, is still on the Mexican icon’s wishlist for a rematch. Bivol defends his title against Zurdo Ramirez on November 5; this is the first match since he dominated Alvarez at T-Mobile Arena with his quick feet and jab.

The most marketable matchup for Alvarez, should he decide to stay at super middleweight, is David Benavidez. Benavidez has won the WBC title twice, however, he has twice had to relinquish it outside of the ring due to drug use and underweight issues. He uses a stalking, aggressive approach, dominating opponents with both hands’ quickness and strength.

Since Benavidez and PBC are both affiliated, Charlo might go up from middleweight to take on Alvarez. I could care less. Anyone can fight me. And I’ve been fighting all my life, with anyone,” Alvarez remarked. “They are free to do as they choose. In the end, it doesn’t bother me who they fight.
