Dotty Cotton: Filming her final scenes

After three years playing Dotty Cotton on EastEnders, the show’s star Milly Zero apparently left. Since 2019, the 23-year-old actress has been portraying the tearaway teen granddaughter of the famous Dot Branning (June Brown), but she has recently finished filming her last scenes.

After three and a half years, Zero has decided that her journey with Dotty Cotton has come to an end. She announced this on her Instagram on Sunday.

“I can’t even begin to express how much my time on EastEnders has changed my life and how much I will miss it, but I am now prepared for new challenges. “Thank you to everyone who contributed to making it such a unique experience; I have made friends for life, learned a tonne, and created lifelong memories. She leaves with a boom, and I can’t wait for you all to see it!

By the end of the year, Zero’s final scenes will air, shortly after the soap honors the late Brown, who passed away in April at the age of 95. In January 2020, Dot Branning was spotted leaving her longtime residence of Walford and relocating to Ireland to take care of her grandson Charlie.

She joined the series’ debut episode and remained with the soap opera for 35 years, making her one of the first original cast members. Is Dotty Cotton permanently quit EastEnders?

Some sources added: “I’ve left the door open in case she comes back. This is not Dotty’s last farewell.” EastEnders has been contacted by MedicoTopics for a response and more details.

In 2019, Zero replaced Molly Conlin, who had played the problematic Dotty on the EastEnders cast from 2008 to 2010. She has since been observed working on ideas to bilk Sonia Jackson (Natalie Cassidy) of money by getting her uncle Tom Cotton (Brian Conley) to pose as her long-lost father.

Dotty also directly caused Tiffany Butcher’s departure from Maisie Smith after having an affair with Keegan Baker. As a result, there was a vicious catfight in the gym.

Dotty Cotton character

A fictitious character from the BBC serial opera EastEnders named Kirsty “Dotty” Cotton was portrayed by Molly Conlin from 2008 to 2010 and by Milly Zero since 2019.

On December 26, 2008, she made her debut as the young daughter of well-known figure Nick Cotton (John Altman). To murder his mother Dot Branning (June Brown) and take her estate money, Nick enlisted Dotty Carter as his accomplice. Following Dotty’s last-second sabotage of Nick’s murder attempt, she and Dot became friends.

She left with her mother Sandy (Caroline Pegg), whom she thought had passed away, in her last plotline, which aired on February 23, 2010. Dotty made a comeback on October 3, 2019, although Milly Zero had been cast in her place. Sandy informs her that she is not Nick’s kid and that her father is Tom “Rocky” Cotton in December 2021. (Brian Conley). But this is proven to be a fraud in September 2022.

On November 13, 2022, it was revealed that Dotty and Zero will both be leaving the program after the year. Dotty Cotton was first despised by critics. Conlin’s portrayal of Dotty, however, received praise from executive producer Diederick Santer, and both Brown and Altman agreed that the plot was one of the show’s highlights.
