After Timothy Haslett Jr., 39, departed to drop his child off at school, the accused victim escaped from his Excelsior Springs home.

She then reportedly fled to a neighbor’s house for assistance while looking underfed and sporting a metal dog collar with a padlock around her neck. According to neighbors, the woman had obvious symptoms of maltreatment.

Friday at 7:45 a.m., Ciara Tharp reported to NBC affiliate KSHB in Kansas City, her grandma heard the woman pounding on the door and screaming for assistance.

She knocked on the door after hearing a woman screaming, and when the door was answered, the woman exclaimed, “You have to assist me, I’ve been raped, I’ve been held captive,” according to Tharp. She says, “You’ve got to help me.”

According to KSHB, Tharp’s grandmother took her into her house. And covered her in a blanket, and gave her food and water.

Tharp said, “My granny could tell she was weak. She wasn’t wearing a lot of clothing. She claimed she could see the ligature marks on her wrists and that she was wearing a metal dog collar around her neck.

The victim revealed to Tharp’s grandma and another neighbor that she lived down the street from her abuser and that she was frightened he would murder her if he learned she had escaped.

When Tharp’s grandma dialed 911, an ambulance arrived to transport the woman to the hospital.

She pointed to Haslett’s house on the way and said that was where she had been held captive since the beginning of September, the station reported.

What did court documents confess about the victim’s identity?

According to court documents filed on Tuesday and acquired by the regional ABC affiliate KMBC News, the victim, who has not been identified, was discovered by the responding officers to the call while wearing latex underwear and a metal collar with a padlock around her neck.

She also had marks on her wrists and ankles and duct tape around her neck.

At the start of September, the woman claimed to have been picked up in Kansas City by a man named Timothy.

The documents add that she claimed to have been held captive ever since in a small chamber. And he had constructed in his basement, where she was bound with handcuffs around her wrists and ankles.

She claimed that Haslett frequently raped her in the cramped basement chamber and allegedly beat her while holding her captive.

She had whiplash-like wounds on her back, which emergency personnel discovered.

The court documents add that they also observed that her respiration was being obstructed by the collar that was fastened around her neck.

When police carried out a search warrant at Haslett’s residence, they found the basement chamber the lady had mentioned. They also found several guns inside the house.

The day after his accused victim allegedly fled due to an unrelated animal control infraction, police arrested Haslett.

He is currently facing rape, kidnapping, and assault charges.

According to KMBC, the victim was rushed to a hospital for treatment and is now in stable condition.

Although she claimed there were further victims, no one has been located by detectives.

Tharp claimed the woman swore Haslett killed her pals and notified her grandmother.

“She said, ‘He killed my pals,’ in her comment. They failed to succeed. My pals were murdered,” Tharp stated. She simply kept saying it.

Police stated that they have not yet discovered any proof of any further victims. Although, they are actively looking into the potential.
