According to Eloy Police, a man has been detained for threatening to blow up a number of establishments in the South Central Arizona city.

Eloy Police officers said that Marcus Myers made the threats on January 26 in the late afternoon.

According to the three calls Myers reportedly made, he threatened to blow up the Eloy Police Department, a retail store in Eloy, and a pharmacy in the Casa Grande, which is to the north of Eloy.

Marcus Myers is the suspect who threatened to blow up three buildings, including the Eloy Police Department (630 N Main ST Eloy, AZ), Family Dollar (11 N Santa Cruz BLVD Eloy, AZ), and the Walgreens (1514 E. Florence Blvd. in Casa Grande, AZ).

The Eloy Police Department located and arrested Marcus at his residence in Eloy, AZ, where he was subsequently booked into PCSO Jail for three counts of Making terrorist threats and false reporting,” Eloy police stated.

There are no current threats to the community, according to Eloy Police authorities, who also expressed gratitude to officers from the Casa Grande Police Department for their assistance in the investigation.

“These types of threats are taken seriously and individuals who make them should expect to be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law”, according to the police statement.
