What happened to the kids at Dagenham? Investigations & Details Explained

Emergency services were rushed to a home in Dagenham, where two children were later revealed dead. Let’s see who are these kids and what happened to them in detail.

 

Dagenham kids found dead

At about 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, the Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service were sent to a location on Cornwallis Road in Dagenham.

Two-year-old and five-year-old boys whose bodies were discovered were both pronounced dead at the spot.

 

Updates on the Incident

Detectives from the East Area BCU of the Metropolitan Police Department, along with associates from Specialist Crime, have opened an investigation.

Now that the boys’ families have been informed, they are receiving help from specialized officers.

Formal identifications and post-mortem examinations will be scheduled as soon as possible.

At the scene, cordons are still in place, and investigations are ongoing.

Prime Suspects

A short while after the incident, a woman was detained in relation to it.

Police were called to a disturbance at a house close to where the victims were discovered, and she was then taken into custody.

Additionally, a man near the scene was detained in connection with the event.

The man and woman, who were familiar to both of the kids, are still being interrogated by the police.

Detective Inspector Sean Treweek said:

“This is clearly an extremely distressing incident with many unanswered questions, however at this very early stage, nobody else is sought in connection with the deaths.

“I want to thank local people for the assistance they have given officers as they begin work along with partner agencies to establish the full circumstances of these two tragic deaths.

“They will see additional officers in the area, and anyone with information or concerns should speak with those officers.”
