A shooting incident in a parking lot of a west-end shopping complex ended in a homicide. Let’s see more about the West End shopping center parking lot shooting in detail.

What happened at the West End shopping center?

Beaumont officers discovered a dead man and an injured man inside a bullet-riddled truck down the street in the Burger King parking lot.

A 20-year-old man was fatally shot early Saturday morning and another individual was wounded near the intersection of Dowlen Rd and Phelan Blvd in Beaumont’s west end.

Investigators say it started with a response to a trespassing report and disturbance shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot outside DMoney Daiquiris Lounge, 6632 Phelan in Beaumont. That is in the Dowlen-area St. Charles Plaza shopping complex on Phelan.

Officers stopped the suspect car, which had multiple occupants and guns, as it was leaving 6550 Phelan.

In the Burger King parking lot, two victims were discovered in a truck by police, one of whom was deceased and the other had non-life-threatening wounds.

It was reported that the injured person was driven to a Beaumont hospital in a private vehicle.

Beaumont Shooting- explained:

According to Beaumont Police, a trespassing complaint at the DMoney Daiquiris Lounge at 6632 Phelan Blvd. initially prompted the call at around 2:49 a.m. on Saturday. The club is located just west of Dowlen Rd and Phelan Blvd.

Beginning at the club and extending about a third of a mile to the east along Phelan Blvd, where they claim to have discovered the victim and another injured person in a pickup vehicle in the Burger King parking lot, police are looking into three separate crime scenes.

According to Jefferson County Precinct One Justice of the Peace Ben Collins, a 20-year-old man was shot fatally and passed away at the site.

Another individual was shot in the leg. The man’s name will not be made public until his immediate family has been notified.

The shooting took place at the parking space outside the lounge. The area where the truck was situated and the parking lot was all part of the sizable crime scene that Beaumont police had to examine.

Police investigation:

According to Collins, who said he has ordered an investigation, the pickup was shot multiple times following a disturbance in the parking lot close to the Church’s Chicken just down the street from the DMoney Daiquiris Lounge.

The Officers has set up several yellow evidence markers on the ground in the parking area where the lounge is situated, and they taped off most of the shopping center’s perimeter with crime scene tape.

The vehicle also had a number of yellow markers. Police gathered evidence, measured the various crime sites, and processed them for hours.

Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. stated that the deceased individual was 30 years old. An autopsy has been ordered by the court.

Who is the suspect?

Collins reports that no suspects have been detained in connection with the fatal gunshot. According to police, “a lot of witnesses” to the shooting are being interviewed.

Later on Saturday morning, the police will provide more details about the killing, which they claim is the third homicide in Beaumont this year.
