A collision on Interstate 170 in Hazelwood on Thursday afternoon claimed the life of Spade Newcash, also known as Ronaldo Butler, a promoter and rapper from Ferguson, and injured two others. On Thursday, all southbound lanes of Interstate 170 in Berkeley were stopped for many hours due to the deadly accident. Keep reading to know more about it in detail.

The Missouri Department of Transportation reported that all southbound lanes on Interstate 170 near St. Louis Lambert International Airport have been reopened following an hours-long delay after the motorway was closed due to a tragic vehicle accident Thursday afternoon.

According to officials, the collision near Frost Avenue involved two automobiles. Two people with lesser injuries were taken to a nearby hospital while one person passed away.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that two passengers in a BMW were stopped in one of the southbound lanes of I-170 just before 3:30 p.m. on Thursday due to mechanical problems.

Its rear was struck by a Hyundai Elantra that was also travelling south.

The BMW veered off the right side of the road and collided with a concrete barrier as a result of both vehicles beginning to slide.

At the scene, it was determined that the driver of the Hyundai Elantra had passed away. Ronald Butler, a resident of Ferguson, was named as the accident victim by MSHP.

Ronaldo Butler, also known as Spade Newcash, was a native of Houston, Texas. He was a rapper and promoter who goes under the alias “Newscash” and books parties, performances, concerts, printing, DJs, auto care, car towing, puppies, window tinting, graphics, and custom kicks.

Minor injuries were sustained by the two individuals in the BMW.

 

Is I-170 Southbound lanes closed?

Investigative support is provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. All of the southbound lanes of Interstate 170 in Berkeley were shut down for several hours on Thursday as a result of a deadly collision that happened around 3:30 p.m. on the highway before Airport Road.

The exit ramp from SB I-170 to southbound I-270 was also shut down. As first responders tried to clear the area of the accident, traffic was backed up for hours. At 6:45 p.m., all I-170 southbound lanes were once again reopened.

Authorities are currently looking into Butler’s death circumstances. The news has obviously crushed Butler’s family and friends, and the community has been horrified by the tragic loss.

The news of Butler’s passing has understandably devastated his family and friends, and condolences have poured in from all over the neighborhood. Many people have expressed their sympathies and offered support to Butler’s loved ones on social media during this difficult period.
