According to Allen, who also dragged a woman by her hair in the event, the adolescent should be charged with a crime.

According to 7 News Miami, Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen was assaulted outside of a Four Seasons hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Monday night (March 13).
The previous night, Allen had shared the stage with Motley Crue and Def Leppard at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida as part of the two groups’ ongoing world tour.
According to a police report from Fort Lauderdale Police, Ohio native Hartley was hiding behind a pillar outside the hotel when he charged the drummer, knocking him to the ground and striking him in the head.
Allen, who tragically lost his arm in a vehicle accident back in 1984, gave police a sworn statement in which he expressed his desire for Hartley to face legal action.

Rick Allen of Def Leppard is reportedly the victim of an assault outside of a hotel. While outside having a cigarette in the hotel’s valet area, Max Edward Hartley, a 19-year-old Ohio native who was in Florida, allegedly “violently attacked” Allen.
Police said Hartley was hiding behind a pillar when he ran “full speed” at the 59-year-old drummer, knocking him to the ground, according to 7 News Miami. Allen allegedly “struck his head on the ground, causing injury,” according to a police report.
According to reports, a woman who was nearby when the event happened went to help Allen, which prompted Hartley to launch another assault.

Hartley, who participated in football and lacrosse teams at Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland, looked to be in Florida for spring break when the incident occurred.
Hartley was raised by his parents, an elder and younger brother, and other family members in a $670,000 mansion in Cleveland, Ohio.
He refused to reply when asked if he knew who Allen was as he brought his arms up to shield his face and displayed injuries on his elbows.
After being charged with two counts of violence, four counts of criminal mischief, and abusing an elderly or disabled adult, Hartley was taken into custody and transferred to the Broward County Prison on Tuesday.
Why did he attack Def Leppard’s drummer?
He allegedly struck her while she lay on the ground and then pulled her “out of the lobby and back into the pavement” before fleeing the scene as she tried to take cover inside the hotel.
Although there was no clear explanation for why the young boy attacked Allen, a 7News reporter questioned him about if he was aware that the victim was Rick Allen, the drummer for Def Leppard. Yet no one responded to his query.
Max, who escaped the Broward County Jail a day after attacking the drummer, was apprehended nearby the hotel as he attempted to break through a car window shortly after he attacked Rick Allen and the woman. Max had previously attacked the drummer.
Many offenses, including two counts of violence, four acts of criminal mischief, and abusing an elderly adult, were committed by the attacker, according to 7News.
In a video posted on his social media accounts on March 14, Rick Allen welcomed his followers to a very special fundraising event that will take place in Palm Springs on April 1. There was nothing wrong with Rick Allen in the video, regardless of whether it was taken before or after the attack.
Although Rick Allen’s condition is yet unknown, further information is scheduled to be made public soon.

His arm was severed from his body when it became entangled in the seatbelt. The limb was first reattached by doctors, but it was later amputated because of an infection.
With specially created electronic drum equipment, the English-born rocker, who is presently on tour with his wife, singer Lauren Monroe, was able to restore his life and career.

He claims to have seen first-hand the advantages drumming has for veterans. We are rhythmic beings because our mother’s heartbeat is the first sound any of us ever hear. It’s just a very ancient form that instantly taps into healing, Allen explains.
“It benefits on many different levels; it helps the brain, it helps the nerve system, and it slows down the respiratory system.”

I hope the drummer is fine, never really was a fan, but you don’t beat a person for not liking their music. Especially a one armed older gentleman. If the little piece of dirt is and was sane during the attack, he needs to spend a year or two in prison.
