Nima Momeni, a 38-year-old Emeryville, California resident, is the suspect who killed Bob Lee. According to investigators, Mr. Momeni and Mr. Lee were acquainted.
On 4 April, police discovered Mr. Lee, 43, unconscious with stab injuries near San Francisco’s city center. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Chief of the San Francisco Police Department William Scott made the announcement of Mr. Momeni’s arrest during a news conference on Thursday.

The internet entrepreneur can be seen stumbling towards a parked car while raising up his shirt to reveal his wound, but the automobile drives off before the man hits the ground.
With two stab wounds to his chest, Mr. Lee was found unconscious by police in the Rincon Hill community. They began first aid treatment before taking him to the hospital.
He served as MobileCoin’s chief product officer and worked in the cryptocurrency industry. Additionally, Mr. Lee is credited with creating Cash App, a smartphone-based platform that enables money transfers between individuals.
Forbes estimates that the app is worth $40 billion in the United States. Many people in the US tech industry paid tribute to him after his death. Additionally, it sparked disapproval of San Francisco’s government’s handling of violent crime in the city.

The murder of Lee outraged California’s startup community. It revived debate about public safety in San Francisco, with Tesla founder Elon Musk calling the city’s violent crime situation “horrific.”
Brooke Jenkins, the district attorney for San Francisco, retaliated against Musk on Thursday, saying that his statements assume “incorrect circumstances about Mr. Lee’s death, serve to mislead the world in their perceptions of San Francisco, and also negatively impact the pursuit of justice for victims of crime.
Brooke Jenkins responded to the criticism at a news conference on Thursday by claiming that her office and the police have “worked tirelessly” to solve Mr. Lee’s case and other unsolved crimes.
She also criticized people who made “reckless and irresponsible” claims about how Mr. Lee’s murder affected public safety in San Francisco.
Elon Musk, who tweeted following Mr. Lee’s stabbing that “violent crime in San Francisco is horrific and even if attackers are caught, they are often released immediately,” was specifically cited by Ms. Jenkins.
