Steven Tougher, a paramedic who had recently married, has been identified as the victim who was fatally stabbed at the Campbelltown McDonald’s on Friday morning. Let’s see what happened to Steven Tougher in detail.

What happened to Steven Tougher?

Mr. Tougher, a 29-year-old paramedic, was nearing the end of his shift and sat in the back of the ambulance doing paperwork when his attacker pushed open the door and repeatedly stabbed him.

NSW Ambulance confirmed his death by sharing the following statement, “We are beyond heartbroken today following the death of a paramedic while on duty in Campbelltown this morning.

Our thoughts are with his loved ones and colleagues, and we thank police and clinicians at Liverpool Hospital for their assistance.

Our paramedics serve the community on the frontline every day and we are extremely grateful for their dedicated service.”

The father, 29, was attacked by an unknown person while taking a break at a McDonald’s in Campbelltown. After hearing that a coworker had been stabbed several times, paramedics rushed to the site.

Tougher and another colleague had been “working hard all night” and were taking a dinner break at McDonald’s when the event occurred.

He received care at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital where he was declared dead.

NSW Ambulance Commissioner Dominic Morgan stated, “This is a young man who his father tells me knew from the age of five that he wanted to be a NSW paramedic.”

“He wanted nothing more than to serve his community.” According to Morgan, the young family of the paramedic and the wider NSW Ambulance service as a whole were going through a very trying moment.

“This is a time of recognising and grieving with the paramedic’s colleagues and family at a very difficult time.”

Who is the suspect?

The 21-year-old suspect was in custody, according to Deputy Commissioner Mal Lanyon, and “very good” CCTV was present throughout the scene.

“The thoughts and sympathies of NSW Police are with the family of that officer and the entire ambulance family,” Lanyon stated. Police were aware of the man, according to Lanyon, but only for “minor offenses.

He stated that they were looking into the suspect’s background. “We have received information that the man we have arrested may have been driving in the Ingleburn and Campbelltown in a blue-colored Honda Jazz,” he said.

Police are requesting that anyone with information contact them. Susan Pearce, the health secretary for NSW, described the situation as “incomprehensible” while sobbing.

“The health system is one big family and to lose someone in this way is incomprehensible to us,” she said. As coworkers mourn the loss of one of their own paramedics, floral tributes have grown at the scene.

Everyone nearby is feeling it, according to paramedic Wayne Havenaar. “Many of our people are young people with kids of their own and this is really hurting them.”

“He has paid the ultimate price for being a caring, brave soul devoting his life to saving and serving those in need,” said one note at the memorial.

Tributes flooded social media after the demise news of Steven broke out.
