Marty Little visited a hospital for the first time in December 2022 because his body was infected everywhere. They sent him home believing they had everything under control. By the end of January 2023, Shannon reported that he had undergone a liver biopsy and that the results revealed the need for a transplant.
She provided an update in February 2023, stating that they were still waiting to determine what needed to be done with the liver and that while still weak, his condition was improving.
He needed a blood transfusion in March 2023, so his ammonia levels are high, and they need to determine where the bleed is. They did discover a gastrointestinal bleed and corrected them in the hopes that the bleeding would cease. His ammonia levels were decreasing. She said that He has now undergone the necessary steps to be included to the registry of liver donors.
By the end of March 2023, She provided an update stating that He required a second blood transfusion, had been transferred to the rehabilitation unit, and required OT and PT twice daily. He was then sent to critical care because his ammonia levels kept dropping and his blood pressure became low.
She posted on Facebook 4 days ago that his levels are stabilized and he is using less blood pressure medication and oxygen. They have the cardiac catheterization set for the following day if he can sustain this over night. Sadly, they were unable to perform a cardiac catheterization since his blood pressure kept dropping. Sadly, he died after a protracted disease struggle.
