After a guy allegedly entered a Target on Gallatin Pike North in Madison, across from the Rivergate Mall, and fired a shot into the back wall, the Metro Nashville Police Department launched an investigation.
Authorities responded on Sunday just before 5 o’clock. No threat was present once the building was cleared by officials. When authorities arrived, they found nothing and reported no injuries or damage.
They claimed that a man entered the store, went to the rear, pulled out a revolver, fired at the back wall, then departed the store after watching CCTV footage with a store manager.
What happened in the Target Rivergate Mall?
After responding to a report of an active shooter at the Target in Madison near the RiverGate Mall, police detained a man. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, there was an active shooter at the shop on Gallatin Pike North when authorities were called.
On Sunday, April 2, just before 6:30 p.m., police said that they had vacated the building and that there was no longer a threat. The inquiry, according to authorities, revealed a man shot a gun through the store’s rear wall before he fled the scene in a maroon automobile.
Then, shortly after 11 p.m., authorities reported that Jamar Simmons, 31, had been detained in connection with the Target shooting at his Madison home. There is no more information available concerning the incident.
