He served as the host of a variety of shows, including Cheeky Palate and KFC Taste Kitchen. He also recently appeared as a guest on the Metropolitan program We Start 2023 Stronger. Born in the KwaZulu-Natal area, Bhengu has always had a keen interest in food and dining. He started his profession as a chef at the age of eight, following in his mother’s footsteps in the kitchen.

Before enrolling in the famous Culinary Institute in the Cape Winelands in 2010, Chef Lentswe spent five years working in the investment finance sector. After graduating, Lentswe started producing and uploading cooking videos to YouTube. His television career was sparked by this, and he then hosted the two-season program Africa on a Plate, which mixed food with travel and culture. Along with comedian Anne Hirsch, he co-hosted The Great South African Bake Off’s seasons two and three. Also, he made an appearance as a celebrity guest judge during the semifinal of My Kitchen Rules South Africa’s second season. On the Mzansi Magic program Celebrity Mystery Box, he took the place of the late chef Lesego Semenya, also known by his stage moniker Les Da Chef.

Bhengu ditched his coat and tie in favor of a chef’s jacket and apron when he enrolled in the renowned Culinary Academy in the Cape Winelands in 2010. Immediately after receiving his diploma, he made a name for himself in the culinary world by creating delectable meals in the kitchens of some of the most prominent restaurants. His skill and passion for cooking soon led to other chances, one of which inspired him to travel to Africa to experience the many cuisines there. Bhengu frequently took part in food festivals, events, and expos in addition to having some of his work commissioned in other nations.
