Following a stabbing in Gipsy Road, Leicester, on Thursday afternoon, June 15, a murder inquiry has been launched. Just after noon, police were summoned to a complaint of a stabbing near the intersection with Melton Road.
The individual was pronounced deceased shortly after officers and East Midlands Ambulance Service colleagues arrived. As of yet, no one has been taken into custody.
Officers had been called to a school in Melton Road after a complaint of threats when police were notified. There is no relationship between the two instances.
The serious crime team of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) detective chief inspector Mark Sinski stated: “Our investigation is very much in its early stages and I’m appealing for anyone who was in the area of Gipsy Road or Melton Road shortly before or after midday to come forward. I’m particularly keen to hear from motorists with dashcams or anyone with CCTV footage.”
