Who was Kevin McFadin?

In Palo Alto, California, Kevin McFadin worked as an illustrator/staff page designer for a local newspaper. He then went on to work for publications in Maine and Pennsylvania. Later, he worked as an art director at Bremmer & Goris Communications in Alexandria, Virginia, where he had previously worked as a designer.

Additionally, he spent a lot of time as his wife’s partner and helped her open her store, Fan Works Design, in Richmond. In a public setting, Kevin was the first person in history to endorse Dead Sea Apes. He has been playing our music on his radio show, Sunrise Ocean Bender, ever since he first started doing it, and he has been doing it regularly.

Furthermore, he was kind enough to allow some of our records, particularly Cardinal Fuzz, to be released on the label he runs. Recondite and Spectral Domain are two albums that are considered as relating to this group.

He was obviously amazing and everyone in the business will miss him much. He was a loyal supporter of the business as well as a music nerd, and both of these characteristics contributed to the fact that he was a devoted supporter of the industry.

Tributes to Kevin McFadin

Many people expressed their profound sympathies to his family and expressed how much they loved him. The news of this occurrence has upset his supporters and fans.

Centripetal Force Record Label wrote: “I just learned that we lost one of the most gracious and supportive members of our underground music community, Kevin McFadin of Sunrise Ocean Bender. Kevin was a great cheerleader for the record label and offered sage advice. His label provided part of the blueprint and inspiration for mine. I enjoyed our fleeting conversations, usually about our former California lives and the rigors of running a single person label operation. I got a kick out of his occasional crotchetiness, knowing damn well he was actually a lovable teddy bear. Rest easy, Kevin. And thank you.”

Tadpoles Band wrote : “With the heaviest of hearts, we want to post this video of our song, Sunrise Ocean Bender, put together by one of our biggest champions, Kevin McFadin, who sadly passed this week, leaving behind an amazing wife and an amazing daughter, along with a record label, a weekly radio show both called Sunrise Ocean Bender, as well as many articles, interviews and reviews over many years …always fiercely supporting , highlighting and promoting independent artistic bands and musicians passionately. He was also a good friend and we’ll miss him tremendously. Here’s to you, Kevin.”

Dave Cambridge wrote: “I know it is an easy platitude to say to people – BUT cherish the time we have on this planet – It doesnt last long. The deepest of gratitude to Kevin McFadin – Thank you for everything you did – no words can express that.”

One of the worst things anyone can go through in life is losing a loved one. Any journey must have a destination at the end. The person’s time on earth has regrettably come to an end now that they have died.

We wish him eternal peace and send our thoughts and prayers to his loved ones, family, friends. May he rest in peace.
