Javon Johnson JJ! You really play too much for real now! I am struggling to believe you’re actually gone and never coming back. but one thing I will admire you for and the reason this is so hard to accept is that ME WATCHING YOU operate in YOUR true God-given gift on this Earth completely gave me life! Nope, we don’t talk every day. but you better believe if and when I see you.. or even on fb… it always, “Britt I’m proud of ya man” or “hey Judy!” you were legit one of the funniest but most talented and gifted musicians I’ve ever known! May you rest in peace and may God grant strength to your babies, family, friends, and the list goes on! You are gone but there is NO WAY you can be forgotten! VA has lost a REAL one! I just KNEW I would see you play at the BET awards, Grammys, or SOMETHING before you exited this Earth.
Javon Johnson was raised in Virginia Beach and was born in Chesapeake, Virginia. He was a freelance drummer and professional musician. Javon was undoubtedly among the funniest but also the most gifted and talented musicians that many people have ever met. His talent as a musician and his sincerity was unmatched.

It is with great sorrow that the Church of Destiny announces the passing of Bro. Javon Johnson. We are praying for his mother Vernetta Smith, his bonus mom Renyta Whitfield, his children, and fiancé Altodiva Ellis. He will be greatly missed. I had the privilege of pastoring him. He served at the Church of destiny wholeheartedly as a faithful musician. Earth has no sorrow that heaven can’t heal.
While the cause of death is yet to be confirmed, local media speculates that Javon Johnson was involved in a deadly car accident that happened in Virginia.

Javon Johnson came into my life as my bonus son while he was in Nashville! A lot of folks loved and cared for him and tried to show him while he was here! He would have Eric call me just to say ” Hi mom, I love you “, then he and Eric Darrett would proceed to joke around and act silly! He became family while playing with DCB and it was on and popping at that point! Once, my child, you’re always my child regardless of anything! Son RIP ALWAYS! Love you forever!
