What happened to Michael Milmerstadt?
On Monday, after a training session at the gym, OCSO Deputy Michael Milmerstadt had a bad headache. Authorities said Milmerstadt’s headache was later determined to be a serious brain injury. He is on life support after recently suffering a serious brain injury.
Palm Bay Police Department expressed their thoughts on Social Media. It says,
Our thoughts and prayers are with Deputy Milmerstadt, his family, and everyone at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Milmerstadt’s family has said goodbye to him
On Thursday, the sheriff’s office shared an update on Milmerstadt’s condition stating that his family has said goodbye to him while he remains on life support.
The sheriff’s office says it is the family’s wish for him to save other lives through organ donation.
“It is with deep sadness that we inform you Deputy Milmerstadt’s family has said goodbye to him. Mike remains on life support because it’s his wish and their wish that he provides a chance at life to others through organ donation,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Office shared.
Claire Homes said “Sending prayers to his family and all who loved him…….may his spirit live on in his precious gift of life to others”

“Mike has been with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office for seven years, where he works as a member of the Community Oriented Policing Squad (COPS). He is also an elite member of the agency’s SWAT team and a valuable trainer, particularly in defensive tactics.
We are all wrapping our arms around Melanie, the boys, and the rest of Mike’s family in this extremely difficult time. They are sure to have a long road ahead,” a GoFundMe for the family reads.
Milmerstadt is reportedly the main source of income for his wife, Melanie, and their three young boys. “Please keep his wife, their boys, and his loved ones in your thoughts,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Office shared.
