Radio DJ Tim Gough, passed away live on air at the age of 55. The GenX Radio station reported his death saying that “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to notify you, our dear friend and breakfast host Tim Gough died this morning while presenting his programme.”

A Suffolk DJ passed away unexpectedly on 24 October 2022, Monday morning while hosting his well-liked breakfast programme. Following the popular presenter’s death live on-air during his breakfast programme, tributes have been pouring in for Tim Gough.

A radio DJ passed away while hosting his morning show, according to his station. Tim Gough had been on the air for an hour when the music ceased in the middle of a song. A little while later, the music started up again, but the DJ did not start up his broadcast. Tim’s tragic death was later reported by broadcaster GenX Radio Suffolk. Tim Gough cause of death was a heart attack.

Later, the radio announced Tim Gough passing. The music stopped suddenly when he was on his program, and he was already an hour into the broadcast on GenX Radio Suffolk.

James Hazell from GenX Radio reported, “I can confirm that Tim Gough died whilst presenting his breakfast show at 7:52 from a suspected heart attack. After 25 minutes of effort, the paramedics failed to revive him. His morning broadcast on GenX Radio Suffolk was his first time behind the microphone in more than a decade.

According to local media, he passed away at his Lackford at 7:50 am today after suffering a suspected heart attack. Ever since, many who knew him have referred to him as a “warm, caring, entertaining guy” who was “loved greatly.”

The managing director of GenX Radio Suffolk, James Hazell stated Tim was “a hugely experienced and highly talented broadcaster with an army of fans for his daily programme”.

He suddenly suffered from a heart attack while broadcasting the morning show. The heart attack is believed to be the Tim Gough cause of death.

 

Tim Gough career

Tim began working as a broadcaster at Radio Orwell in Ipswich in 1986. Later, he hosted the breakfast programme on Saxon Radio and SGR-FM and made appearances on Smooth Radio and several other East Midlands radio stations. Then, for the first time in more than a decade, he was granted the breakfast slot at GenX Radio Suffolk.

Tim loved taking his Labrador Cooper on long rural walks and was a devoted Norwich City fan. He is survived by his mother, brother, sister, and son, East Anglian.

His 36-year radio career began at Radio Orwell. From there, he went on to host the breakfast shows at Saxon Radio and SGR-FM, as well as make appearances on Smooth Radio, several east Midlands stations, and other national stations.

The Norwich City supporter loved radio as well as traveling, interacting with people, taking pictures, reading, listening to music, watching movies, and walking his dog Cooper around the Suffolk countryside.
