“Those who have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine can make an appointment or walk-in to any Covid-19 Vaccination Centre,” according to an official.
Who is eligible for a BOOSTER dose?
Health and frontline workers, and those above 60 years of age with co-morbidities will be eligible to get the ‘precaution dose’ or booster shot. Union Health Ministry had earlier said that the senior citizens with co-morbidities will not be required to produce a doctor’s certificate or prescription at the time of administration of precaution dose However, precaution dose will be administered with a gap of nine months after the second dose.
The government has already stated that the ‘precaution dose’ will be the same as the first and second doses of the vaccine. Those who received Covaxin will continue to receive Covaxin, and those who received Covishield will continue to receive Covishield.
