The well-known model and NYC dancer, Vinny Vega, died. Vinny Vega was a passionate, creative, artistic, and fiercely fashionable person.

It’s difficult to dispute that this guy is not the most recognizable go-go boy in NYC because of his big heart, professionalism, photogenicity, and undeniable hotness.

And to his already impressive portfolio, he has steadily added promoter, party host, photographer, reality TV star, and actor. Vinny left behind his friends and family.

The news saddens his close one as nobody expected Vinny to go this soon. Read ahead to know what happened to him and Vinny Vega exact cause of death.

What happened to Vinny Vega?

Former XL New York Nightlife Host, Dancer/Performer, and Promotion Vinny Vega passed away unexpectedly. Social media posts shared on Facebook reported the passing of Vinny Vega of New York.

He passed away last week while sleeping. Vinny Vega was both an icon and a shining star. His family is in our thoughts and prayers during this trying time.

Our beloved Vinny Vega passed away in his sleep sometime last week. He did not appear to be in distress, and the cause of death is yet unknown, though it seemed to have involved an enlarged heart.

We would like to ask that you remember him with kindness that reflects the beautiful soul that he was. We have created a GoFundMe campaign to assist with his memorial and final expenses.

It was confirmed that Vinny passed away as a result of Heart Failure as reported by his family to us.

GoFundMe for Vinny Vega 

A GoFundMe page has been established by Mark Lander, a resident of New York, New York. According to Lander, the money raised through this effort will go to the family to help with the funeral expenses. The page “Vinny Vega Memory Fund” has raised $4,182 USD of the $20,000 goal.

Vinny Vega was an icon and a bright star. Adored by his colleagues and friends near and far. Vinny’s big heart radiated from his bright eyes and adorable smile.

He’d lend a hand to strangers without a second thought. Mostly a goofball, and sometimes a dork. We love him and will surely miss the irreplaceable part he brought to all of us.

Vinny was all things bright and wild and colorful. He loved hard and lived boldly in pursuit of purpose and joy. From his bear hugs and broad smiles to the laughter that animated his body, Vinny was the definition of jubilance. Life will be less vibrant without him, but if you look, you’ll find him shining among the bold, bright colors of the world.

We are raising money to cover funeral costs and settle his other final expenses. When we reach our goal, and expenses have been covered, any unused funds will be gifted in his memory to the Trevor Project via another fund to allow his gift to grow. 

The important work done by the Trevor Project was close to Vinny’s heart, providing a 24/7 suicide hotline and other life-saving resources for LGBTQ youth.

Who was Vinny Vega?

Vinny Vega was raised in New York and was born in Shirley, New York. The Sachem East School graduate. Vinny studied Facebook Photography at the Fashion Institute of Technology after graduating from high school.

He was once employed by Mark Nelson Enterprises as a dancer, by Armani Exchange as a sales associate, and by Mama Lombardis as a server.

He had 103K followers, 6,056 followings, 1,911 posts, and an Instagram account with the identity @vinnyvega_nyc.

Vinny about his dancing career

Vinny first moved to New York City at the end of 2007 to get started with his degree at FIT in photography and digital image. He has always been artistically inclined ever since he was a kid and loved tapping into his creative side as often as possible.

Vinny was supporting himself financially and was working in retail as his college job on the side, but soon he was approached to dance at G Lounge in Chelsea.

He was apprehensive and didn’t think he had the look for it, but Vinny gave it a shot, he used to be nervous every time he went to work! But, after a few months, his confidence built, and got approached by other venues and events to dance.

It was a snowball effect in the way things progressed with nightlife. Before he knew it, he was dancing at a different venue 5 nights a week, on top of being a full-time college student.

Vinny Vega’s Obituary

Saying goodbye is often difficult, and it can be hard to find the words to express how you feel about a loved one who has passed. We are sorry to announce the demise news of a Multi-talented person and a good soul here.

Vinny Vega was such a Sweet, very professional, and gifted artist who will be fondly remembered by so many. He was a professional model, dancer, and artist. 

Vinny Vega took his final breath last week 2023. Rest in peace Vinny Vega. You will be missed but never forgotten.
