A suspect is under arrest after the theft of the First National Bank of Gillette on Highway 59 on Wednesday morning.
According to Wasson and Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds, the suspect Preston Selph fled the bank and was pursued by a resident onto Interstate 90, heading east. At 9:28 a.m.
Campbell County sheriff’s deputies and Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers caught up to the suspect vehicle and stopped it.
According to Wasson, Preston Selph pulled over without any problems. He was also found with the $2,000 and the note that he is believed to have given to the bank teller, but no weapon was discovered.
Preston Selph charged with robbery
According to Gillette Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson, Preston Selph, 33, of Texas, has been charged with robbery.
After he allegedly handed a bank teller at the First National Bank of Gillette a note claiming to be armed before driving off with $2,000 on November 9 at about 9:07 a.m.

Following a 9:07 a.m. complaint of a robbery, the First National Bank of Gillette along Highway 59 was shuttered on Wednesday. At before 9:30 a.m., a Texas man Preston Selph was taken into custody on Interstate 90.
An inquiry for comment was not immediately answered by First National Bank of Gillette.
