Rick Ramirez commented,

I am profoundly saddened to see that Ken has passed. I worked with him at FS 11 while I was briefly assigned there in 2011. At the time I had over 30 years on the job and Kenny had 3 or 4. As old guys we sometimes have a bad habit of thinking that the generations that come after us on the fire department are not up to the task…and I was not immune to that. Kenny was the kind of young firefighter who gave you great hope for the future. He was hard working and aggressively eager to learn all aspects of the job. This combined with a wonderful personality that made him a real pleasure to work alongside. I would like to extend my condolences to Ken’s family and friends on their great loss. He was such a good man…I can’t imagine.
