Céilí McInerney was attending an open evening at her school, Coláiste an Átha in Kilmuckridge, last Thursday evening when she suffered an asthma attack.

She received medical attention from First Responders at the scene before removal. The teen was brought to Wexford General Hospital and later transferred to Crumlin Hospital in Dublin where sadly she passed away four days later on Monday.

Transition year student Céilí McInerney from 5 Cluain Mhic Tire, The Ballagh was attending the Coláiste an Átha open evening last Thursday evening when she suffered the attack, leading to a rapid evacuation of the school.

Reposing at her home tomorrow (Wednesday) from 2 o’clock to 7 o’clock. A celebration of Céilí McInerney life will take place at Newlands Cross Crematorium on Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock followed by cremation. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to The Asthma Society.

Her school issued a touching tribute to their former student online, who they called a “beautiful soul” and said Ceili would be remembered for her “fun and her sense of adventure”.

Hearing all the beautiful tales about her generosity, steadfast loyalty, sense of humor, and sense of adventure lifted our spirits today.  Every person she encountered was forever changed by her.

The entire Coláiste an Átha school community would like to offer our sincere condolences to Céilí’s family and friends at this sad time. She will be sadly missed by everyone that knew her.
