According to the Prince William County Police Department, three persons were killed after a shooting erupted during an incident at a gathering inside a Woodbridge residence Friday afternoon. Keep reading to know more about the Woodbridge home shooting in detail.
Woodbridge home shooting:
Officers arrived at a residence in the 14700 block of Birchdale Ave. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting on May 26, 2023, at 2:24 PM.
Officers arrived at the apartment and discovered four adult victims with gunshot wounds. According to police, several people were inside the house when one of them began firing, striking four guys. The suspect ran away from the house.
The event was contained to the property, and the suspect is not thought to be in the vicinity. Further inquiry found that several people were inside the house when one of the occupants opened fire, striking four men. The suspect fled the residence, and the police were called.

Officers arrived at the home and discovered one adult male outside who was later pronounced dead at the scene by fire and rescue services. Officers then discovered three more gunshot victims inside the home and administered emergency first aid until fire and rescue workers arrived to transfer them to surrounding hospitals.
As a result of the injuries sustained during the shooting, one of the men died in the hospital. Three additional men discovered inside the house were rushed to the hospital, where one was confirmed dead. According to police, the shooting was planned. On May 27, a third victim also died as a result of his injuries sustained in the shooting.
A 21-year-old male, the fourth victim, is expected to survive. There were no other casualties or property damage reported. This incidence does not appear to be coincidental.
Victim identities:
The deceased victims were identified as Edwin Geovanny SALMERON, 37, Luis Alonzo SALGADO-RIVAS, 41, and Kevin Josue VALLECILLO MENDOZA, 23, all of Woodbridge.
Police believe there is only one suspect, who they believe is no longer in the neighborhood.
According to Prince William County police, authorities do not believe the shooting was random and are hunting for a single suspect.
Prince William County police said in a news release,
“The victims were found both inside a residence and outside, So, we don’t know fully, exactly what happened from the moment it started until the end.
“The incident was isolated to the residence and the suspect is not believed to be in the area. This incident does not appear to be random.”
Detectives are continuing to actively investigate the incident to establish what led up to the shooting and are looking for anyone with information about it. More information will be provided as it becomes available. The investigation continues.
