For IVF, Lolo Jones is getting her body ready. The Olympic hurdler and bobsledder, 39, shared on Instagram on Wednesday that she has started the egg retrieval procedure in the hopes of using in vitro fertilisation to have a child.

She emotionally said in a video she shared of the event how she needs “a family,” but has been waiting for a husband to start that journey for years.
Jones said that since she will turn 40 on August 5 she is taking the process into her own hands and beginning the initial stages of in vitro fertilisation, which includes freezing her eggs. To ensure she will continue, she must administer herself regular hormone injections and attend doctor checkups.

“Terrified. I have 15 days left before turning 40,” she captioned an Instagram photo. “Having the impression that I don’t have enough time to start a family has terrified me more than anything else.

As soon as I reached my early 30s, I wanted to freeze my eggs. I just kept telling myself that I will eventually meet my husband and everything would be fine. I’ve been here for almost ten years, and nothing has changed.
She started the process with Frame Fertility in order to allay her “worry” about having children. After realising she had a “great egg reserve,” the Celebrity Big Brother participant decided to begin the egg freezing process.
“I’d like to nudge women to look into this sooner. Every woman is different.
