Press conference Statement
In a press conference on Sunday, Mayor Dickens revealed that several of the other parties involved, including one victim who is in severe condition, were kids from Atlanta Public Schools.
He added that everyone involved was a teenager. Dickens emphasized the increased police presence that was present at Atlantic Station the night of the incident. He also stressed how crucial it is for parents to know where their kids are at all times.
The mayor said that when expressing his sympathies to the victim’s parents, he heard from some of them that they were unaware that their children were at Atlantic Station, let alone that there was a curfew in effect there.
According to the police, due to the big group’s disorderly behavior and curfew breaches in the well-known area, off-duty APD officers and Atlantic Station staff escorted them off the property.
Atlanta police have confirmed there was a shooting near the 17th Street Bridge in Atlanta involving multiple victims.
The people involved are thought to be between the ages of 15 and 21, according to Lieutenant Germain Dearlove, the homicide commander for the Atlanta Police Department. He asserted that there might have been at least two shooters present.
Anyone having a video of the incident is being urged by police to turn it into Atlanta police. At 404-577-TIPS, anyone with information can reach Atlanta police.
According to the official website of Atlantic Station, any children under the age of 18 who are not with a parent or guardian are subject to a rigorous 3 p.m. curfew. Additionally, it stipulates that juvenile groupings of four or more or more shall be expelled.

Street lights come on around 6 pm…this shooting happened around 8. Surely a curfew wouldn’t be set so early
I’m with you. I just heard on the news the parents were contacted and they didn’t even know where the kids were. Parents need to start being held accountable for their children.
