The relative of the boxing champion passed away over the weekend after allegedly suffering a neck wound during a night out in Altrincham, Greater Manchester.

In his dying hours, the 31-year-old had been watching the fight between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk with friends.

Around 3 am, emergency personnel flocked to the area where Rico and a 17-year-old boy had been attacked.

Regrettably, Rico was beyond repair.

He later passed away in a hospital, where the teen is still being treated for “severe life-changing” wounds.

Since then, a guy has been accused of killing Rico.

Who is charged with Rico’s murder?

In the early hours of Sunday, police detained a guy named Liam O’Prey at the site, outside a bar in the Goose Green neighborhood.

He is 21 years old and has no permanent address.

O’Prey has been kept in detention after being accused of killing Rico.

On the morning of the incident, a 20-year-old was also detained on murder suspicion but was later freed on bail while the police continued their investigation.

Will he show up in court, and where?

O’Prey will show up in court tomorrow in Manchester and Salford.

O’Prey will be charged with murder as well as the section 18 assault of the 17-year-old boy.

Despite being seriously hurt, the teen was fortunate to receive life-saving assistance from bystanders.

Today’s statement from the Greater Manchester Police revealed that Rico’s family is still receiving support from specialized officers.

According to the statement, the adolescent victim’s family also expressed gratitude to everyone who provided first aid to their son that evening.
