At 3:30 in the morning on August 16, the teacher of Binalbagan Catholic College found bleed to death from a deep wound close to his boarding house on Dumas St. Brgy. Saint Peter.
The 51-year-old victim, identified as Tony Lazaga, was temporarily residing at Brgy. 35 in Bacolod.
The victim returned to his boarding house in Banwa Sang Binalbagan after attending a birthday party in Bacolod City, claims Police Lieutenant Glen Portunes, the deputy chief of police for Binalbagan PNP.
According to PCapt. Glen C Portunes, deputy chief of police of the Binalbagan Municipal Police Station, a tricycle driver told them that he hit two of his passengers while avoiding a man who was begging for a dwarf.
Based on the inquiry, the victim may have been involved in a fight with the unidentified suspect who was shot multiple times. Lazaga was the victim of the ten body stab wounds.

Captain Portunes speculates that the culprit and victim may still be engaged in a struggle over who gets to keep the equipment for themselves.
Although it was apparent that the victim’s smartphone had been used, his wallet and laptop still contained all of the victim’s money. Authorities believed that the crime was the result of a hold-up robbery.

Lazaga was taken to Binalbagan Infirmary, where his attending physician immediately declared him dead.
