Tom Allen cause of death

Austin, Texas- Tom Allen, a former coach and athletic director at Sinton High School who had a long and successful career, passed away on Thursday.

Isaac Martinez, a coach at Sinton and a 2014 graduate, said of the man, “Man, he was a fiery guy.” “He was simply one of those instructors for whom I would have—and still would—run through a wall. I adore him and am happy to have had the opportunity to work with him as a coach for a brief period.”

What illness did he suffer?

Allen was forced to resign in 2018 after receiving a Multiple Systems Atrophy diagnoses two years earlier. A neurodegenerative condition affecting the nervous system, Multiple Systems Atrophy progresses over time. When Allen retired five years ago, he sent KRIS 6 Sports this message.

“This program, they’re going to play football and they’re going to play well, Allen said. “Regardless of whether I’m here or not, so it’s in good hands.”

He managed to continue doing what he loved most—coaching—while on the sidelines for the Sinton Pirates while having the disease. In his twelve years as head coach in Sinton, he guided the squad to eight district championships, multiple playoff trips, and a stellar 106-40 record. In 2014, he guided the Pirates to the state playoffs.

Martinez remarked, “He never really talked to you about the x’s and o’s of everything. He constantly said that to be a great young man you’re going to be a great spouse, and a great father one day, and he wanted to encourage his athletes to be great.

Who was Tom Allen?

The head boys’ basketball coach at Sinton is Omar Garcia. Coach Allen added him to the team. “He fired a shot at us. He gave us that chance. He was not required. He let me in even though I was a nobody. I owe him everything, Garcia declared.

Michael Troutman, the athletic director and head football coach at Sinton, claimed that coach Allen was full of life lessons. He’ll bring those with him.

Maintain integrity in your decision-making. You might not please everyone, but as long as you are honest, you can be proud of yourself, Troutman added. He consistently acted in the kids’ best interests.

In response, Garcia said, “I kind of took that to heart and just kind of taught every day like this was the most important moment and here was the most important place.” “He said to treat it like it’s your Super Bowl and those kids will follow, those kids will feel that excitement,” Garcia said.

They claimed that Coach Allen’s generosity was one of his outstanding attributes. Gene Kasprzyk, the former Sinton Baseball Coach, described him as “about as harsh as he could get.” “You’re not getting a Christmas card from me this year,” was his catchphrase after making a call that he disapproved of. In his twelve years as a coach in Sinton, Allen led the Pirates to consecutive appearances in the state quarterfinals in 2013 and 2014.
