Phoenix gas station shooting: Who is Jaime Flores? Why did he kill Shane Kroll? Explained

Phoenix police are looking into a murder-suicide that occurred at a Phoenix firm and resulted in the death of one employee and the self-inflicted gunshot death of another guy. Let’s see about Phoenix gas station shooting in detail.

Phoenix gas station shooting

Officers from the Phoenix Police Department responded to a report of gunfire at a Chevron station close to 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

They discovered Shane Kroll, a 30-year-old employee, bleeding from numerous gunshot wounds when they arrived. At the scene, he was identified as dead.

Who is Jaime Flores?

Officers were told to go to the store’s parking area, where they discovered another man, Jaime Flores, 40, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound of his own.

After being taken to the hospital right away, Flores passed away from his wounds.

Why did Jaime Flores kill Shane Kroll?

Investigators said that Kroll and Flores got into a fight and that during the struggle, Kroll produced a firearm. After managing to grab the weapon, Flores shot Kroll.

Sgt. Philip Krynsky said in a statement,

“Officers were later informed by witnesses that the suspect walked a short distance away and then turned the gun on himself.”

There were no other recorded injuries.

Investigation

We don’t know what caused the shooting. Since then, police have named the shooter as Jaime Flores, 40, and the victim as Shane Kroll, 30.

An inquiry is still being conducted. Roman Yslava observes a lot when working at the local auto shop while staring out the garage.

After seeing the event at the convenience shop across the street, Yslava dialled 911.

Yslava said,

“I’ve never seen stuff like that, I couldn’t believe it happened.”

Witness statement

Before entering the petrol station, according to witnesses, the suspect appeared to be using narcotics.

Yslava claims to have spoken to the man just before the incident.

He said,

“As I can see as he was talking to me, he had a jacket over, he had a piece of foil and a straw.”

The suspect entered the gas station, according to Yslava, who then saw the man emerge onto the parking lot where he observed the man take a few draws on a cigarette before turning the revolver on himself.

“He [suspect] got up, walked into the gas station, came out, literally grabbed his smokes, packed it twice, took one out and took two puffs. He walked where the body was at and pulled a gun out of his right pocket and boom. Shot himself.”

Yslava can’t help but let his thoughts wander after witnessing what he did.

“I know I’m going to drive home right now thinking, that could have been us. He could have pulled the gun out on us and shot us not caring who.”
