On the evening of August 28, an investigation was launched in response to the fatal homicide of Jessica Edmunds, a.k.a. Jess Edmunds, a Rotherham resident. Significant developments have occurred since the start of the inquiry into Jess Edmunds’ death, with two people being arrested on suspicion of murder.

South Yorkshire Police, along with other law enforcement agencies, has been working tirelessly to gather evidence, investigate leads, and interview relevant persons since the investigation began. Keep reading to know more about it in detail.

Jessica Edmunds dead: What happened?

Following the murder of Jessica Edmunds, a Rotherham woman, an investigation was initiated this evening (August 28).

Officers were called to The Bridleway in Rawmarsh shortly after 3:30pm after receiving a call from Yorkshire Ambulance Service that a woman in her 30s had been discovered dead inside a property.

Officers arrived and detained a male, 47, and a woman, 49, on suspicion of murder. They are both still in police custody.

Authorities haven’t released the identities of the victim or the suspect. We identified the victim as Jessica Edmunds, of Rawmarsh, through our investigations.

Officers have alerted the woman’s relatives and are assisting them.

An investigation has been launched this evening (28 August) following the death of a woman in Rotherham.
Officers responded to The Bridleway in Rawmarsh just after 3:30pm following a call from Yorkshire Ambulance Service that a woman, in her 30s had been found dead inside a property.
Upon officers’ arrival, a man aged 47 and a woman aged 49 were arrested on suspicion of murder. They both remain in police custody.
The woman’s family has been informed and is being supported by officers.
Scenes remain in place on The Bridleway. We ask that you avoid the area while officers carry out their work and enquiries.
Anyone with information they believe will assist officers with their inquiry is asked to get in touch.
